The road to French Pass, Te Aumiti & Elmslie bay was opened in 1957 and built by the Bryant brothers and locals.
The mail run was established 7th October 1957 by Dave Graham - Rai Valley to French Pass
Wild life, native bush, Okiwi bay, Pelorus Sounds, Admiralty Bay, Te Aumiti, French Pass, D'Urville Island and beyond. Walking tracks, Mountain bikes, Kayaking and Accommodation.
The drive is spectacular with visitors rating it the most scenic drive in the country (surpassing Milford and Queenstown)
